2012-13 ACBSP Seminar Series Focuses on Strategic Planning for the Business Unit

OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (September 13, 2012) The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is offering a seminar series aimed at addressing the challenges business faculty, deans and chairs face in trying to develop strategic plans for their business unit that integrate well with the overall strategic plans for their college or university.

The 2012-13 ACBSP Seminar Series: Strategic Planning for the Business Unit is a practical workshop that will equip participants with the tools necessary to enhance a current strategic plan or create a new one. The workshop also includes a review of ACBSP Accreditation Standard 2: Strategic Planning,a key component in achieving specialized business accreditation through ACBSP.

"One of the motivations for developing this seminar series is the ACBSP guiding principle of continuous improvement. The facilitator will share some of the experiences of our staff and members of the Boards of Commissioners, based on their review of self-studies submitted by colleges and universities pursuing ACBSP accreditation over a period of years,” said Steve Parscale, ACBSP director of accreditation. "Attendees will see best practices and well as learn from those with significant opportunities for improvement.”

• October 31- November 1, 2012 — New London, Connecticut, USA
• November 6-7, 2012 — Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
• February 7-8, 2013 — Kansas City, Missouri, USA



ACBSP’s mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education. ACBSP currently has 1,134 member campuses, 167 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 572 have achieved accreditation and more than 485 are in candidacy for accreditation. Individual members on these campuses now exceed 10,000.
