ACBSP Announces the Release of Volume 3 of the ACBSP Annual Edition, a Peer-Reviewed Journal with 13 Articles Focused on Excellence in Business Education


Text Box:  OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (January 24, 2013) The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP),, announces the release of its third peer-reviewed journal: Volume 3 of the ACBSP Annual Edition: Recognizing Excellence in Business Education, published in January 2013. The 13 articles featured in Volume 3 went through a rigorous peer review process prior to final acceptance for publication. The ACBSP Annual Edition is listed with Cabell Publishing. The Library of Congress has recognized the journal by issuing an International Standard Serial Number, ISSN 00-2151-6022.


The articles cover topics making headlines, such as "Thriving in a Down Economy: Using Sound Business Principles to Increase Revenue and Focus on Quality in a Poor Economy,” by: William S. Lightfoot, Ph.D., & Suzanne Erickson, Ph.D.; and "Trends in Bringing Sustainability and Climate Change Content into the Curriculum,” by Terri Friel & Josetta McLaughlin.


ACBSP was the first accrediting body for business schools to support scholarly research by publication of a peer-reviewed journal. Volume One of the ACBSP Annual Edition was released in June 2010, followed by Volume Two in 2011. The fundamental objective of the ACBSP Annual Edition is to provide a venue for ACBSP members and others to present their research and findings, engage in scholarly research and inquiry, and support and improve classroom teaching. Editors are: Annette E. Craven, Ph.D., ACBSP Past President, DBA Program Director and Professor of Management, University of the Incarnate Word; and Laura S. Mays, Ed.D., Chair of Romanian Academic Programs and Professor of Management, Tiffin University.



ACBSP’s mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education. ACBSP currently has 1,260 member campuses, 177 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 586 have achieved accreditation and more than 592 are in candidacy for accreditation. Individual members on these campuses now exceed 10,000.
