| Assessing Learning in Hybrid Courses in Higher Education |
Assessing Learning in Hybrid Courses in Higher EducationLearners today are continuously “connected” by phone, tablet, or computer. They are visual learners and expect technology to be integrated into their learning environment. Therefore, an increasing number of instructors are utilizing hybrid models of teaching, which replace some face-to-face meeting time with virtual instruction and/or experiences. There has been a variety of research conducted related to hybrid courses. However, further research related to the desire to take, motivations for taking, and effectiveness of hybrid courses is needed. This presentation will explore the results from a survey of 420 baccalaureate students from various institutions that have completed a hybrid course. Survey results will address students perceived level of learning in hybrid courses and constructs that impact perceived level of learning in hybrid courses; students motivations for taking hybrid courses; and students preferred learning activities in hybrid courses. 25:48 On-Demand FREE Meet Your SpeakersRachel Lundbohm University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Rutherford Card.
