Key elements for successful online teaching and learning as the number of online students is growing exponentially around the world (one-hour session)

What is the role of ACBSP as an accrediting body in addressing quality, working with institutions as they transition to exclusively online delivery? The panelists will address the following questions as it pertains to the ACBSP Unified Standards and any issues that arise as a result of the rapid transition from face-to-face course delivery to online delivery. (75-minute session)

Topics include:

  • What specific steps can ACBSP take to scrutinize quality as institutions that have been primarily reliant on either ground-based or blended learning are now almost exclusively online?
  • What standards can be modified or created to address quality in extensive distance learning environments?
  • Are there any practices ACBSP can develop that focus specifically on examining quality in an environment of large-scale distance delivery? Adoption of Curricula that are being adapted for online for the first time.
  • What does ACBSP need to focus on with e.g., faculty teaching online for the first time? (Standard 5)
  • Panelists will also address:
    • What types of student support and academic advising are available online for the first time? (Standard 3)
    • What other practices or policies assure quality in large-scale distance learning environments?
