What You Will LearnPark University’s MHA faculty recognize that entrepreneurial leaders aren’t limited to those students who own or aspire to own a business, but rather entrepreneurial leaders are extremely valuable in firms where creativity and innovation are needed. It is well established that entrepreneurial leaders need to possess a mastery of “soft skills” in order to achieve professional success. Like many graduate programs, Park University’s MHA was confident in its ability to prepare entrepreneurial minded graduates for the workforce; however, there is evidence that this opinion wasn’t shared by industry leaders. There’s an industry perception that universities aren’t doing enough to develop and refine the soft skills of their students and; therefore, putting industry in jeopardy. In response to this phenomenon, two years ago, the MHA program redesigned the core curriculum and consciously integrated graded activities intended to strengthen the soft skills of the students. The presenters will share the pedagogical approaches, implementation challenges, findings, lesson learned, and "next steps." This will be an interactive session that leads to an open exchange of best practices in the development of successful entrepreneurial leaders, through a strengthening of their students' "soft skills."
