The ACBSP Global Conference Committee invites proposals for presentations for the 2017 ACBSP Global Conference and Accreditation Forum. Presentation proposals may be either practitioner-based or research-based. Practitioner-based presentations should be interactive with a high level of participant engagement and hands-on experience. Research-based presentations should include the appropriate research design and scientific methodology. This can be a presentation based on a previous presentation or research, or a newly introduced presentation and research content.
All concurrent sessions are 45 minutes. This typically will include five minutes for introductions at the beginning, 25-30 minutes to present, five to ten minutes for questions and discussions, and five minutes at the end for concluding remarks and completion of session evaluations.
All proposals must indicate one of the following concurrent conference tracks:
The theme is focused on preparing our students for new forms of global business management - virtual/multi-forms, with active ongoing global collaborations. The requirement for international experience has substantially expanded over the last decade. Most businesses are now actually or virtually global through their ecommerce presence. More businesses of all sizes, whether domestic or international, are now operating with team members located all over the world, collaborating virtually thanks to new digital tools. This new paradigm means that not only will all business students need to understand global business, they will also need to do it more directly and concretely - while experiencing first-hand the international collaboration requirements.
Topics that may be a focus of presentations can include:
A call for educational scholars to share their expertise. Present at the global conference on the concepts of the ACBSP Accreditation Standards and Criteria, which are modeled after the Baldrige National Quality Program, Education Criteria for Performance Excellence. The standards and criteria present the leading edge of validated management practices that have proven to work in high-performing institutions of higher education to plan, perform, evaluate and measure results for institutional learning and sustainability. Please specify which Standard the presentation will be covering.
The submission deadline is September 5 September 9, 2017.
All responses to this call must be submited through our electronic selection system, with accompanying required items (e.g. photo and bio) at the time of submittal.
Proposals submitted outside of this system will not be considered or accepted. If the submission is completed and the system accepts it for review, it will be acknowledged by email within five working days. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of your submittal, please email conference@acbsp.org or call 913-339-9356.
All proposals are peer-reviewed by representatives of the Global Business Education Committee. Authors will be notified of the status of their proposal and the committee's decision as either accepted without modification, accepted with modification, or not accepted.
