IV - Strength: The business unit has provided a realistic organizational profile, including a description of the organizational environment, organizational relationships, and organizational challenges.

1.1 - Strength: From observation and discussions on campus, it is obvious the naming of Dr. Dianne Vargo as University President has been well received on campus and in the community. In addition, naming Dr. Zahra Mohebbi as chair has brought needed leadership to the department of business, thus beginning efforts toward growth and improvement of the business programs.

2.1.a - Strength: The business department has purposefully aligned its strategic plan with the institution's mission and vision, which provides a solid foundation for goal accomplishment.

3.1.a. Strength: The business unit should be commended for maintaining small class sizes (15-35 students in foundation courses and 15 to 25 in upper-level courses). This shows the commitment to having a personalized learning experience.

3.4 Strength: The business unit has identified areas to improve, such as reestablishing the business unit's relationship with its alumni. Also, the business unit's effort to have its own business department exit survey is commendable. When this is implemented, the process will be improved.

5.1.a Strength: The business unit is making progress to have a human resource plan, given the financial contingency/exigency that the University is currently experiencing. A gap analysis of positions needed has been developed.

5.1.c. Strength: Full-time faculty members are involved in community service in addition to their teaching responsibilities. This is in line with the institution’s mission and tag-line "Life, Leadership, and Service."

6.1.a Strength: The business unit provided detailed minutes of consistent and continuous meetings.

7.1.b - Strength: The business department tracks hiring of full-time faculty members and industry interaction events as business operations processes.

7.3.b - Strength: Data is provided on hiring of full-time faculty members and industry events. Tracking these processes allows for the potential for continuous improvement.
