CSC program accreditation reaffirmed

December 17, 2013 11:11 am  •

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has awarded Chadron State College reaffirmation of accreditation of its business programs.

Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. The ACBSP standards relate to curriculum, faculty resources, admissions, degree requirements and the intellectual climate of the college.

ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the business school at Chadron State College meet the rigorous educational standards of continuous improvement, innovation and scholarship established by ACBSP.

"Chadron State College has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP director of accreditation Steve Parscale, who will present the certificate of reaffirmation of accreditation to CSC officials at the ACBSP annual conference in Chicago, Ill., June 29.

"This accreditation is evidence that Chadron State College is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students for the next 10 years, just as they have done for the last 10 years,” said Parscale.

Dr. Joel R. Hyer, dean of the school of Business, Entrepreneurship, Applied and Mathematical Sciences, and Sciences, said the announcement reflects the results of a collaborative, multi-year process on the part of the faculty members within the Business Academy to ensure quality.

Rick Koza, business professor and chair of the Business Academy, said he and his colleagues are pleased to receive this specialized accreditation which reaffirms that they are dedicated to quality student learning outcomes, embrace the virtues of teaching excellence and strive to ensure students have the essentials to excel.

CSC offers a bachelor’s degree in business administration with areas of specialization or options in accounting, marketing, management, finance, agri-business, business education and business information systems.  Chadron State also offers a popular and fully online master of business administration degree program.
