This month's edition of the "Pulse" podcast features an interview on a topic that is generating significant buzz: disruptive innovation in higher education.

In the podcast, host Rodney Murray speaks with Michelle R. Weise, executive director of the Sandbox ColLABorative, strategy and innovation arm of Southern New Hampshire University. Weise is a former senior research fellow for higher education at the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation.

She discusses some timely issues, such as the future of the credit hour, competency-based education and how colleges and vendors alike might face disruption from new technologies.

"The Pulse" is Inside Higher Ed's monthly technology podcast; Murray, the host, is executive director of the office of academic technology at University of the Sciences.
