LMU welcomes Pannell Jr.

Will lead business program currently under development

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business Dean James Hurley has announced the appointment of T. Allen Pannell Jr. as director of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program. The program is under development and pending approval will start in Fall 2016.

“I am excited to welcome Allen to our LMU family,” Hurley said. “The School of Business will benefit greatly from his experience, especially his leadership skills and practical business analytics experience.”

Pannell joins the School of Business faculty following a tenure at the University of Tennessee, where he taught in the Graduate and Executive Education program. He has been a practicing statistician for 30 years in a wide variety of industries. He also served as president of Tennessee Associates International, a prominent management consulting firm focusing on analytics, continuous improvement, leadership and change. Pannell earned a Bachelor of Science in business and statistics and a Master of Science in statistics and finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in statistics from his alma mater and will defend his dissertation issue in October.

“I am honored and excited to be selected to develop and lead the new analytics program at LMU,” Pannell said. “As an alumnus of one of the top ranked analytics programs in the country, I look forward to utilizing my academic training and applied work experience to create a program where our graduates immediately and significantly add value to their employers. The standards will be high and representative of the legacy of Lincoln Memorial University.”

The LMU School of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). LMU offers undergraduate business majors and programs in accounting, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship and professional golf management at the main campus in Harrogate. The business core is also available at the LMU-Cedar Bluff extended learning site in Knoxville. Additionally, the master of business administration (MBA) program is available in Harrogate and Knoxville with concentrations in accounting, finance, human relations management, international business, management and marketing. The School of Business also offers a dual MBA degree in conjunction with the LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and the LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine.
