UNPHU Approved for ACBSP Membership and Candidacy for Accreditation

From a press release issued by UNPHU in December 2016:

The Universidad National Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in the Dominican Republic began an international accreditation process of their business and accounting programs of its Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) with the clear purpose of continuing to increase the academic quality in the process of the University’s internationalization.

ACBSP is a global organization founded in the United States, distinguished for creating and promoting quality management, aiming at the specialized accreditation of business schools and programs of higher education institutions.

ACBSP's Director of Latin American Operations, Dr. Wilfredo Giraldo Mejía, gave an induction workshop to the academic and administrative staff of UNPHU in preparation for the organization's knowledge and functioning and understanding of the standard and criteria.

In this meeting, Walter Lendor, Projects Director, and Daniela Ozorio, General Academic Coordinator, were appointed as Champion and Co-champion respectively. Lendor and Ozorio will lead the accreditation process for the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. To conclude the activity, Dr. Giraldo Mejía gave the academic authorities the official certificates of ACBSP membership and candidacy for accreditation.
