| Teaching Excellence Award Details | 
		
	
	ELIGIBILITYTeaching faculty at ACBSP member institutions are eligible to apply. Any individual may also nominate an eligible faculty member or colleague. The applicant must be currently teaching the academic year at a member institution and at the time of the award decision. The applicant must also show the intent to attend the ACBSP Annual Conference in June. Previous recipients of the regional award will not be eligible to re-apply for a period of five years. CRITERIAThe Teaching Excellence Award Committee has established three criterions for the selection of recipients, both at the Regional and International levels. These are the criteria the evaluators will be basing their decisions on: 1. Teaching & Learning (700 points -- 7000-character limit)This criterion is considered the most important factor to be used in the selection process. These 700 points are broken down as follows:

Professional Development (200 points -- 2500-character limit)This criterion considers the nominee’s academic background and preparation; business, industrial, or other professional experience; and the demonstrated commitment of the nominee to remain current in his/her academic discipline through involvement in professional developmental opportunities at the institutional, local, regional, national, and international levels. These 200 points are broken down as follows:

Institutional and Community Commitment (100 points -- 2500-character limit)This criterion considers the extent and scope of the nominee’s involvement in civic and professional activities within the institution and in the community served by the institution. These 100 points are broken down as follows: 
 APPLICATION PROCESSOnce a nomination is received, ACBSP home office will contact the nominee and inform them of the nomination. 
 For all candidates whose primary language is not English, for best consideration by the International Teaching Excellence Award Committee, we recommend that all materials be translated into English prior to the time of submission.
