AI should enhance, never replace, the essential role of faculty, who remain central to curriculum design, instruction, assessment, student advisement, mentorship, and other core responsibilities. AI can help enhance education, but it is the human qualities of faculty, such as emotional intelligence, ethical judgment, empathy, creativity, original thinking, real-world experience, and meaningful connection, that truly inform meaningful learning experiences.
